DevTrack is designed to work as both a Client/Server and Web-based application. You can choose to deploy the DevTrack Windows Client to your end users with familiar Windows user interfaces, or you can deploy the DevTrack Web so that your users, especially remote users, can use DevTrack with a preferred browser such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.

Yes. You can download the fully functional DevTrack from our download site, and evaluate it for up to 60 days.
DevTrack is comprehensively customizable via the DevTrack Admin application. All the pages (forms) and fields can be customized easily with point-and-click operations. All the workflow rules can be configured and changed by intuitive interfaces. In additional to the GUI and workflow rules, many other settings can also be customized or changed according to project needs or personal preferences.
Yes, DevTrack provides several levels of security control. First, DevTrack requires each user to pass his or her own authentication or NT authentication to log in to the system. The user password is encrypted. Second, by defining role-based account types that are associated with different privileges, users with different account types can have varying privileges in the system. Third, page-level and field-level access control can be enforced based on user account type and issue status.
In addition, optional LDAP integration allows for single sign-on authentication.
Yes, DevTrack provides presentation-quality reports, all of which can be customized at runtime. Also, DevTrack provides a custom report builder so that you can build your custom reports easily and quickly. If you own Crystal Reports, you can plug your custom reports into DevTrack.
Yes, DevTrack tracks the entire history of the issue life cycle from its inception to its closure. At each stage of its life cycle, changes are recorded about who did what and at what time. DevTrack also provides complete audit trail on all field change.
Yes, you can create an unlimited number of projects in DevTrack to manage different types of issues in different products or businesses.
Yes, the DevTrack Email Notification Server automatically sends out email notifications to users based on user defined rules, triggers, and conditions. Email notifications can be triggered by issue creation or from forwarding, status changes, field changes, etc. There are many types of email recipients that can be selected, including special recipients such as previous owner, linked issue owner, etc.
Yes. When a new issue is created or an existing issue is forwarded, it can be auto routed to appropriate users based on their skill level and workload. Issues can also be auto escalated to team leaders along with alerting messages if the issues are open too long, past due, or stagnant.
Certainly. You can attach an unlimited number of files to an issue. Each attached file can support unlimited revisions.
Yes. You can define public or private queries and save them for future use or share with other people.
DevTrack is very scalable. It is used in the real-world by teams with thousands of members.
Yes. DevTrack has been localized and can process any type of international characters including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic and Hebrew. In DevTrack Admin, you can also customize the field labels and values using international characters.
Yes. DevTrack integrates with many source code management (SCM) systems including MS Visual SourceSafe, Perforce, ClearCase, Serena PVCS, CVS, and AccuRev etc.
Yes. If you need to integrate third-party applications with DevTrack, you can use DevTrack's LinkPlus module, which is sold as a separate license. You can call functions in the LinkPlus module to create new issues, update existing issues, and retrieve issue information in DevTrack.
DevTrack has two types of license: fixed and floating (or concurrent). Fixed licenses can be assigned and used by specific users, but floating licenses only count the number of concurrent users and do not care about specific users. These two types of licenses can be combined.
DevTrack Enterprise Edition is targeted for big organizations, or those companies that need much more power in defect and project tracking. The following features are available only in the Enterprise Edition:

Yes. Users can send emails to an email address configured in DevTrack Admin and then an issue can be created from the email. This gives users the ability to submit issues without having to login to DevTrack client.
In DevTrack client select System Menu/User Preference. On DevTrack Web, go to Settings.
Yes. You can add more than 60 custom fields in DevTrack pages to track all the attributes of your issues. You can group these custom fields to 5 different custom pages.
Yes. DevTrack provides a tool for migrating your legacy data. In the DevTrack client you can easily import existing defects from a formatted text file. You can also import notes and attachments.
Yes. In DevTrack client you can select an issue from the issue list and send it to any recipient via email.
Yes. You can search on all the fields in DevTrack by selecting the Search icon or select the Edit/Search menu.
In DevTrack client, on the top tool bar please select the far left drop down list (User list) and please select a user from this list. You will notice that the Issue has been refreshed and is only displaying those issues owned by or submitted by the selected user.
Yes. In the DevTrack client please select the System Menu/User Preference/Issue List tab and here you can select fields from the Description, Current Status and all 5 Custom Pages to be added to the 'Issue List View' columns window.
Yes. You can perform group operations including group forward, group change, group close, group delete and group copy, etc. In the DevTrack client, please highlight issues in the issue you list and then either select File/Forward or File/Close or Group change to perform these operations. On DevTrack Web, there are group operation buttons that allow you to select multiple issues and then perform group actions. Of course, group operations are privilege controlled.
Yes. In DevTrack client you will create an Issue Template where you populate values in the fields on issue submission. Therefore when a user selects File/New in order to create a new issue they can select the Template button where they can choose a template for issue creation.
Yes. If the DevTrack Administrator has set up and enabled Email Integration and your Account Type is authorized to submit issues via email, then you can send emails to the specified email account and issues will be created based on your emails.
Yes. In the DevTrack client you can link one issue to another in the same project or a different project.
Yes. You can duplicate an issue in the same project or to another project.
Yes. In DevTrack Admin you can choose to "Copy forward notes to new owner" and "Including Work Description". In DevTrack Admin, open your project and under the Project Settings folder select the Project Properties page and here you will see the following 2 check boxes "Copy forward notes to new owner" and "Including Work Description". Once enabled the forward notes and work description will be copied to the new owner.
Yes. In DevTrack Admin if you have enabled Date/Time stamp for the Description field and the Work Description field then every time you want to add more text to the field then you will select the edit button where you will enter additional text in the field and then a Date/Time stamp will be included along with the name of the user.
Yes. The history page display is customizable. In the DevTrack client under the System menu/User Preference/History tab you can choose which sections you would like to display in the History tab. You can also customize the history page for DevTrack Web from Settings/History.
Yes. In DevTrack client under the System menu/User Preference/Other tab you can select "Enable spell check".
Yes. In DevTrack client under the System menu/User Preference/Other tab you can select "Login to the following project automatically" and then in the drop down list select the project.
Yes. You can customize who appears in your user list box. In DevTrack client under the System menu/User Preference/User list tab please select a user from the drop down list "Default User List Selection on Login". You can set this up for DevTrack Web from Settings/User List.
Yes. You can customize the built-in DevTrack reports. In DevTrack client's Report View select a List report. Then, under the Report menu select 'Property.' Here you can choose which type of Report you would like to display. If you select the 'Custom Report Layout' button, you can choose which fields will be displayed for each report type. On the DevTrack Web report view, you can click the hammer sign to customize a selected report.
Certainly. You can export DevTrack reports to MS Excel and other types of files. You can also create a Web Query Report for a selected report and then send the URL to anybody you want. They can then see your report via a Web browser from anywhere.
In DevTrack Admin, open your project and under the Main View GUI design folder please select a page in order to modify fields on that page. Please move your mouse pointer over a field until you have a broken line surrounding the field and then double left mouse-click. A dialog will pop-up and now you can make field changes. If your Administrator has enabled the feature, you can also add field values using the Windows and Web clients. Click the "…" icon that appears to the right of a field to setup these values.
