Integrated SCM for Microsoft Team System
DevSuite Complete ALM Solutions
- DevSuite enables mature product development practices
TechExcel VersionLink for Microsoft Team System utilizes the convenience of TFS' work items while maintaining the configurability and workflow controls of DevTrack. Users are able to export their DevTrack workflow and user interface settings to a Team System process template.
This template can then be used for future development projects. As users check-in and modify source files, they are able to select the work items that are related with their change. These work items, however, are created and managed by DevTrack. When a new DevTrack issue is entered, a sync service will create a work item in TFS that is an exact mirror of the DevTrack issue.
As changes occur to both the issues and the work items, data is synchronized in real-time. Workflow, ownership, and tracking are all stored for each item. Furthermore, reports in DevTrack illustrate which files or assets have been modified in relation to an issue.
VersionLink for Team System provides a unified experience for developers as well as a foundation to communicate important metrics and reports. It is an essential module for anyone who uses both DevTrack and Microsoft Team System.
This solution is ideal for:
- Users of DevTrack who also use Microsoft Team System
- Managers who need more transparency in their development process
- Developers who enjoy working in Visual Studio and do not want to leave the environment to update related DevTrack work items
Intelligent Change Management
- This new layer of integration allows management and development teams to see the results of their work items within both DevTrack and TFS.
- A Team System tab lists all changes, source files, and related issues for a single work item.
- DevTrack Reports can be run to show critical information such as the list of files changed for a particular version of the software, the files created to resolve one or more bugs, and many other meaningful elements of data.
